Animal Sculpture Workshop with Frances Noon

Learn how to make a free standing bird or animal themed sculpture from mixed metals with mixed media artist and jeweller, Frances Noon.

With guidance from Frances, you will learn a range of jewellery and metalwork techniques over the duration of the day. You will have the opportunity to create lots of samples before deciding on your preferred animal. Using a mixture of copper and brass, you will cut and saw out your sculpture shape from sheet metal; you will then explore how to texture and punch the surface of the metal to add detail. Learning how to form wire to add additions such as legs and tails which will be soldered to the front or back of your sculpture and will bring the character of your sculpture to life.
Finally you will fix your sculpture to a wooden plinth or attach it to a plywood shape so it can be wall mounted.

All materials are included in the cost of the workshop, refreshments are also included. The workshop is fun and informative, and no previous experience is needed.
