Get into the festive spirit learning a range of traditional metalworking techniques in this one-day Christmas decoration workshop at Studio Budgie. 

Who are our classes suitable for?

This fun workshop is suitable for beginners and for anyone that would like to improve on their skills in metalwork and jewellery with an opportunity to work on a slightly larger scale. This class is a great introduction to working in metal to create individual Christmas decorations for yourself to as a special gift to family and friends.

What will you make?

With guidance from your tutor, you will learn how to pierce, form, texture, emboss, hammer, file, polish and finish copper and aluminium. You will make several test pieces initially that explore how to work with metal before making your Christmas decorations. You can choose to personalise your decorations with names, dates and messages. Expect to make between six and eight unique decorations to take home.

Our jewellery making facilities.

We have a well-equipped traditional jewellery workshop with a wide variety of machinery and hand tools. We also have a good selection of specialist tools. Students work at their own individual jewellery bench, and we also have larger communal workbenches.

What’s included?

All materials are included in the cost of this workshop including a choice of decorative ribbons to hang your decorations. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also included. The workshop is fun and informative, and no previous experience is needed. Small class sizes ensure individual tuition from your qualified experienced tutor.
