Who are our classes suitable for?

Our 2-week tube setting course is suitable for those who have made jewellery previously and are looking to enhance their skills. This course is a great way to learn a new technique from an experienced tutor using specialist tools.

Over the 2 weeks we introduce you to the workshop, tools, specialist equipment and cover health and safety. You will apply a range of traditional jewellery and silversmithing techniques including heating, soldering, texturing, embossing, filing, polishing and finishing. You will learn how set stones using the tube setting method.

What will you make?

You will make a silver pendant from sheet metal using a template or your own design, which you can then texture. You will then add one or two tube set stones to complete your stone set pendant.

Our jewellery making facilities.

We have a well-equipped traditional jewellery workshop with a good variety of machinery and hand tools. We also have a good selection of specialist tools. Students work at their own individual jewellery bench, we have separate soldering areas and larger communal workbenches.

All materials are included in the cost of this course. Tea and coffee are also included.
The workshop is fun and informative, and no previous experience is needed.
Small class sizes ensure individual tuition from your qualified experienced tutor.
