Who we are

We are an independent jewellery workshop based at the beautiful Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet in Sheffield. We have a fully accessible and well equipped space with twelve jewellery benches, additional communal benches and a separate soldering area.

We teach regular weekly classes on Monday-Thursday and one day workshops at the weekends. We offer a broad program of jewellery, silversmithing and craft courses.

Many of our one day workshops are suitable for beginners who will go away with a piece of jewellery at the end of the day. Our regular weekly students work on individual projects with tutor support over the course of each term. We also offer more specialist skills workshops with the aim of continued practice in weekly classes. 

What we offer

We offer a flexible work pattern to teach jewellery making on a freelance basis in our fully equipped workshop based in Sheffield. For our in house workshops the space will be set up and ready for you to teach. We will fully induct you to our workshop space by having you shadow one of our existing tutors. We will introduce you to our ways of working and processes to help you gain confidence in the workshop.

What we are looking for

We are looking for skilled makers who are passionate about sharing their skills with others. Ideally we would like someone with jewellery or metalworking skills but are open to considering other transferrable skills. We are looking for someone to teach our in house workshops but also bringing something new to our program. Teaching experience is preferred but not essential, we are more interested in the passion for sharing your skills.

Where we are

We are based at the heritage site of Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet on Abbeydale Road South in Sheffield. We are accessible by bus 97/98, train (Dore station is a short walk) and car, we have free parking on site.
