Learn the ancient techniques of chasing and repousse to make a pair of earrings in this one-day workshop at Studio Budgie Galore. This class is a great introduction to working in sheet metal and using hammers and punches to create a low relief design.

With guidance from your tutor, you will learn how to heat the pitch to set your flat sheet of metal. You will then learn how to form the sheet metal using specialist punches and a hammer to achieve a more three-dimensional piece. Finally, you will learn how to saw pierce out your finished shapes to create a beautiful pair of earrings. You will make a test piece in copper before moving onto silver for your finished earrings.

All materials are included in the cost of this workshop. Tea, coffee and refreshments are also included. The workshop is fun and informative, no previous experience is needed but is also suitable for those with previous jewellery and metalworking experience who want to develop their skills.
