Inspired by Abbeydale – Design and Making Workshop
Be inspired by Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, our wonderful museum heritage site with a history dating back to 1713! This workshop is suitable for anyone interested in history, artefacts, objects, storytelling and making.
There is lots to be inspired by, from the crucible steel furnaces, the fantastic tilt hammers, grinding wheels and of course the wonderful water wheels.
Depending on the duration of your workshop, we will spend some time on site observing, sketching, taking rubbings and photographs. We will then head back to the workshop to design and make at least one piece of jewellery or object inspired from the site. This could be earrings, a pendant, a bookmark or similar.
*Date and time will be based on our availability and requirements for your group. We can do weekdays and weekends, either morning, afternoon or evening.
**We can run this workshop for a group of 5-10 participants. The cost for a half day workshop, (2.5-3 hours) will range from £60- £80 per person depending on the group size and requirements.

Booking and Cancellation Policy
Group/Bespoke Bookings
- Your booking fee secures your place, either paid via our website or by bank transfer- we cannot reserve places without payment. Your booking is only secure once a 50% deposit has been paid or payment in full.
- The remaining balance must be paid one month before the workshop commences.
- Group bookings are subject to a minimum guest number as discussed on an individual basis.
- Individual places on a group booking will not be refunded – your total booking cost will be based on the original booking number.
- If we cancel or alter the content, time or location of a workshop you will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to rearrange.
- If you cancel your booking more than one month before the class a 50% refund will be offered, or the remaining balance will not be charged.
- If you cancel your booking less than one month before the workshop the entire booking cost still applies.
